UV Graphic Technologies’ world premieres at LabelExpo India 2024

Nov 09, 2024

Several automation, AI, and hybrid label launches and demonstrations

Keen to launch radically new products, UV Graphic Technologies is excited about Labelexpo 2024. The company has been preparing for the past two years to show new presses and machines for the first time in their world premieres on its 350 square meter stand.

The Ultraflex UFO-5 is said to be the world’s first triple–diameter flexo press with AI Technology. The company says it is the most stable flexo press platform with the highest register accuracy in the industry. The 8-color press will be shown running 8µ film to 400 GSM paperboard. Equipped with corona treatment, web cleaners, hot and cold foil stamping, rotary screen printing, and in-line die-cutting, the new press will demonstrate the first indigenously developed servo-controlled vary gap system for die-cutting labels and in-mold labels (IML). The Ai feature automatically calculates all tension parameters, preregister, and auto-register. It will be the first Indian press integrated with 100% defect detection in cooperation with Deco Systems of Italy.

The Ultraflex EFO 370 8K is claimed by the manufacturer to be the most economical servo-driven press in the label industry. With the base 8-color machine priced at less than Rs 1 crore, direct drive technology, pre- and autoregister at 150 mpm, it can be equipped with hybrid LED UV systems, chill drums, and other in-line accessories.

The Dominator 370 Ultraflex True Digitalhybrid press built in association with Domino supporting two UV flexo Stations and the 5-color Domino N610i-H hybrid digital engine will be displayed for the first time in the Indian market printing live digital images during the show.

The UDF-370 with two flexo print units, die-cutting, digital printing, and digital foiling can run full and semi-rotary with precision and quick setup. India’s first semi and full-rotary finishing digital foil system can individually enhance the look and feel of each label.

The time-tested Ultraflex USR+ slitter rewinder will world premiere a fully indigenous 100% defect detection in partnership with the well-known Lucid Imaging company working with 100% inspection in security printing.

The Ultraflex VPM-700 AF video plate mounter with quick loading and autofocus technology and precision mounting of plates will also be at the stand.

The Pony IML die-cutting machine with an in-line conveyor and stacking for in-mold labels will demonstrate high-speed IML label punching. The Pony IML can also be used for die cutting of pressure-sensitive labels with a snowball waste wind system in place.

UV Graphic will demonstrate its high-Speed Pony Hot Foil FB stamping, embossing, and die-cutting machine with speeds of 20,000 IPH or 250 mpm with integrated waste rewind and 100% inspection for foil stamping and die-cutting.

UV Graphic will demo its Core Max 2000, a high-speed automated core-cutting machine with a multi-program function.

Also on display will be India’s first inline roll-to-roll Pony FS Flat Bed Silk Screen Printing machine with digital foil embellishment for highspeed screen printing and embossed digital cold foil.

Packaging South Asia — resilient, growing and impactful — daily, monthly — always responsive

The 18-year-old multi-channel B2B in print and digital platform matches the industry’s high growth trajectory. The Indian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and Middle East packaging industries are increasing capacity and diversification, with high technology and automation in new projects.

We are mid-way through 2024, and India’s real GDP growth for FY 24-25 will exceed 6.3%. The packaging industry growth will match the GDP growth in volume terms and likely surpass it by at least 2.5% according to our research company www.ippstar.org .

The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India has increased significantly over the past four years. We expect another 20% capacity addition in 2024 and 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels are growing similarly. As the consumption story returns, we expect demand to return and exceed the growth trajectory of previous years. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – and as shown by our analytics, our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.

For responsible and sustainable packaging, with its attendant regulations and compliances, there is significant headroom to grow in India and the region. Our impactful coverage includes the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf, to waste collection, sorting, and recycling. India is where the leading suppliers to the packaging industry are shifting their manufacturing – an opportunity with stable supply chains and low-cost production efficiencies.

We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, co-packers, and recyclers. If you want to reach them, your agility and innovation shown on the industry-leading platform can do some of the heavy lifting.
